ETHICS COMMISSION

Minutes of Special Meeting
Town Hall
Wednesday, November 28, 2018
6:30 p.m.

Meeting called to order by R. Staab at 6:30 p.m.
Members present – M. O’Brien, R. Staab, D. Basler, J. Kendall, R. Paine
Also present—Town Attorney John A. Collins III

  • No press was present
  • Members of the public were present
  • Motion made by M. O’Brien to enter confidential session to discuss confidential investigation pursuant to Chapter 43 of the Old Lyme Code of ordinances and Section 7-148h and 1-82a of the Connecticut General Statutes and/or matters subject to attorney/client privilege regarding such confidential investigation.  Motion unanimously approved.
  • Motion made by R. Staab to invite Town Attorney John A. Collins to sit in on confidential session.  Motion passed unanimously.
  • Motion made by M. O’Brien to move out of confidential session at 7:58 p.m.  Motion passed unanimously.
  • Public comment made by Gregory Stout.  He expressed concerns that the public feels uncomfortable with how ethics issues have been addressed at Old Lyme meetings.
D. Basler made motion for Chairperson R. Staab to draft letter on confidential investigation and to send a copy to parties involved. Motion passed unanimously.
No other business.

Motion to adjourn made by D. Basler at 8:14 p.m.; motion passed unanimously.
